Scandinavian Fair Isle Yoke Sweater - Spin A Yarn, Bovey Tracey, Devon
Circular yoke sweaters are perfect for a variety of stitch patterns. In this class we'll particularly look at using fair isle patterns on the yoke. The class will be based on working a sweater from the bottom up (but it can also be worked from the top down) in the round.
In this class you will learn how a circular yoke is constructed and in particular how to include a fair isle pattern. You will learn how to work the circular shaping and how to adapt it to suit your fair isle pattern. You will also learn how to calculate the numbers for your own sweater and tips on choosing fair isle patterns to work on the yoke.
All materials will be supplied for practice in the class but please bring a notebook, pen and calculator. If you have a specific fair isle stitch pattern and yarn you would like to use, please bring this with you (as well as the needles you will need). If you'd like to start calculating specific numbers for your own sweater, please bring a blocked/pressed swatch measuring a minimum of 15x15cm knitted in stocking stitch.
