Lace Improvers - Spin A Yarn, Devon
Knitted lace shawls and garments are very popular and this workshop will teach you the techniques you need to knit a lace shawl with an applied edging. You will learn how to read charts, work the various stitches and decreases needed for lace knitting, add beads to your lace using the crochet hook method and work an applied edging and a provisional cast on.
In the morning we'll practice the various techniques needed to knit an intermediate lace shawl with an applied edging and in the afternoon you will be able to start working on a shawl. You will be given a choice of patterns, which will all require 800m/100gr lace yarn and 3.5mm circular needles (80cm).
All materials for the morning will be supplied but please bring materials as above for the afternoon project (this can be purchased in the shop on day of workshop if preferred).
Suitable for intermediate and advanced knitters who are familiar with easy lace patterns.
